Monomials is a San Antonio-based indie folk band with a reputation for thought-provoking narrative, witty metaphor, and memorable melodies. Singer and songwriter Richard Keith and mandolinist Troy Peters reconnected in Texas nearly three decades after having been high school friends in the 1980s Pacific Northwest, forming the band with bassist Brandon Henson and drummer Eric Peterson. Formerly known as Slowpoke, Monomials has played a wide variety of venues and festivals including Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival, Alta Vista & Beacon Hill PorchFest, the Bang Bang Bar, Brick at Blue Star, Cherrity Bar, Confluence Park, the Filling Station Tap Room, Imagine Books & Records, Liberty Bar, the Pigpen, Rosella Coffee, and Ventura. Their debut album, Fort Knox, will be released in January 2021.
